EMOT has evolved from a small 10-bedded hospital established by healthcare professionals in 1991 into a reference hospital well-known throughout Turkey and the world today. EMOT, whose logo was designed by world-famous artist Abidin DINO, has been operating as a respectable institution for 30 years without losing its quality of being a specialty hospital, taking teamwork and scientificness as basis.

History of EMOT
The first steps of EMOT were taken in 1986 at the Hand Surgery Center established by Prof. Dr. Arslan Bora, Prof. Dr. Sait Ada and Specialist Pt. Firdevs Kul.
1986
Turkey’s first Hand Microsurgery, Orthopaedics and Traumatology Specialty Hospital
The first replantation in Izmir was performed in 1986 by Prof. Dr. Arslan Bora at SSK Buca Educational Hospital. Under the name of Hand Surgery Group, numerous hand surgeries – microsurgical interventions and rehabilitations – were carried out in either Buca Educational Hospital or private hospitals.
1991
As a result of the increasing number of patients of the center, a set-up similar to that of Indiana Hand Center in the USA was devised and EMOT was opened in 1991 in the Kahramanlar district of Izmir as a 10-bedded hospital with the great devotion and efforts of the partners.
In 1993, Assoc. Prof. Dr. İbrahim Kaplan and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yalçın Ademoğlu reinforced the hospital by joining the team.
In 1996, EMOT developed into a 62-bedded hospital.
1999
EMOT is Growing
In 1999, the number of operating rooms and beds were increased, and medical staff was strengthened. Thus, EMOT, which physically upsized as well, became the leading emergency center for Microsurgery and Traumatology. With the elective cases, it reached an average number of 3,000 operations and 10,000 outpatients annually. It improved rapidly on the course of becoming the most reliable institution in the region and in the country.
2022
With the addition of EMOT Plus Hospital to EMOT, it has turned into a reference hospital where Musculoskeletal System diseases are diagnosed and treated in every respect under a single roof.
